Lewisville Independent School District

Lewisville ISD prides itself on its longstanding tradition of educational excellence. With more than 18 schools receiving the Exemplary rating and 28 schools earning the Recognized rating by the Texas Education Agency, families move into LISD because of their commitment to student success. LISD also has six National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, which is the highest designation a school can earn through the U.S. Department of Education. Annually, the district receives numerous academic accolades and finance awards, a reflection on the quality teachers and staff.

LISD has a well-rounded adult and community education program, a broad ESL/Bilingual program, and strong extracurricular activities including athletics, band, orchestra and choir. In addition, LISD has stability in school board tenure, proactive communications, and active community involvement.

Serving more than 50,000 students, LISD has been experiencing rapid growth during the past 15 years and will continue to grow on average between 1,200-2,000 new students annually until 2016. In eight short years, LISD is projected to serve approximately 60,000 students.

Encompassing 127-square miles, LISD serves all of or portions of 13 municipalities including Argyle, Carrollton, Copper Canyon, Double Oak, Flower Mound, Frisco, Grapevine, Highland Village, Hebron, Lewisville, Plano, and The Colony. The district includes five high schools, 15 middle schools, 39 elementary schools, a ninth-grade campus, a career center, a learning center, an early childhood learning center, two natatoriums, and five athletic stadiums.

Recognizing that the quality of life, both today and in the future, depends on the quality of education provided by the public schools, LISD is dedicated to education and committed to meeting the needs of every student.
